Europiano Congress Córdoba 2027 is conceived as a meeting point for the European technical piano community — technicians, tuners, builders and other professionals connected to the craft. The main aim is to highlight innovation in the piano world, with talks and presentations focused on new ideas in design, technology, materials, construction and technical development. Alongside this, the congress will offer a space for professional exchange, practical knowledge and shared discussion around the future of the instrument.

Christian Bolduc
Technician/Bellyman
Piano technician and expert in soundboards and pinblocks, Christian is president of Pianos Bolduc and known for innovative rebuilding methods.

Paul Corbin
Piano Builder
Independent piano technician in Paris. ITEMM-trained (DMA piano), with experience at Stuart & Sons, Steingraeber & Söhne and Stephen Paulello, and ten years in C. Bechstein's technical department, where he worked on the DuoClave double piano. He now serves the Cité de la Musique and leading conservatoires.

Joachim Leonardy
Piano Builder
Master piano maker and one of today's foremost piano construction experts. Former head of quality assurance at Seiler, and since 2008 a driving force behind JAHN PIANOTEILE's product development. His workshops are sought after at piano-making events worldwide.

Jaume Barmona
Technician / Restorer
Specialist in tuning, repair and full restoration, and the second generation of a family in the trade — he trained from 1976 in leading Barcelona workshops alongside his father, a finisher at Chassaigne Frères. He founded his own workshop in 1992, earned the European Technician Degree I in 2006 and the Maestro Artesano diploma in 2009, and served four years as president of ASETAP. He currently works with the Museu de la Música de Barcelona.
Burkard Olbrich
Piano Builder
Master piano builder, concert technician, former tool manufacturer and author. Since 1997 he has worked full-time as master piano builder at the Würzburg University of Music, and in 2007 he published his reference book Voicing — Secrets and Mysteries. He lectures and teaches courses both in Germany and abroad.

Leonardo Aso Colom
Pianist / Architect / Inventor
Pianist, architect and inventor, he leads Klaviertech, where he develops Flexible Piano Action: a new approach to piano mechanics based on flexible mechanisms that replace traditional pins and joints with structures that deform elastically. The project seeks to improve precision, repeatability, environmental stability and maintainability, while respecting the traditional knowledge of the craft.

Flexible Piano Action: where flexibility meets precision, one key at a time: Klaviertech reinvents piano mechanics from the ground up: flexible mechanisms that replace pins and joints with precisely engineered elastic deformation. Tradition and technology come together in every prototype, gaining stability, repeatability and reduced wear — a development tested alongside ASETAP, paving the way toward a more reliable and durable piano action.
Wim Feldhaus
Piano Technician
Piano technician trained at the Emmen Piano School, with a background as an independent technician, shop owner and specialist in piano rebuilding. He has visited international conventions and factories to refine his craft, and co-founded the Precision Touch Design Academy with Frans Pietjouw, where he continues to teach.
Lectures:
What makes a piano play heavy or light, and how can we influence this? Though pianos may share the same 50-gram downweight, they can feel remarkably different to the touch. Wim examines the importance and the limits of that measure — hammer weight, leverage and inertia — showing both theoretically and practically where the feel of touch comes from and how technicians can influence it.
François-Jérôme Vincent
Piano Designer / Technician
Piano designer, factory consultant and piano technician based in Switzerland. His highly specialised career focuses on the design and optimisation of pianos. He has prepared instruments for both the Geneva and the Kyiv-Horowitz Competitions, as well as for recording sessions, and his innovative tools are valued by technicians worldwide.

Voicing before needling: translating a pianist's touch into the ultimate sound. Tracing acoustic energy through the construction, action, hammer and soundboard to discover exactly where energy is obstructed and where it flows freely, including practical techniques for the use of hardener and softener. A seminar rooted entirely in proven, real-world experience.
Ortwin Moreau
Piano Technician
Belgian piano technician specialising in premium grand pianos. Since 2015 he has been the exclusive caretaker of the Steinway concert grands at deSingel, a major international arts centre in Antwerp. As a Fazioli specialist, he also serviced the Fazioli F278 at the Chopin Piano Competitions in 2021 and 2025, played on both occasions by the first-prize winner.

Carles Sigüenza
Piano Technician
Born in Barcelona, he studied piano to elementary level before joining a piano repair and sales firm. His career has taken him to the Steinway-Camillieri workshop in New York and to the Bösendorfer factory, and has included representing Steingraeber & Söhne in Spain and teaching the history and anatomy of the piano at ESMUC. A past president of ASETAP and former vice-president of Europiano.
Lectures:
The Iberian Piano. Scarlatti–Cristofori: the first great centre of fortepiano music in Europe. Scarlatti's arrival in Spain to work at the court, apparently bringing with him three Cristofori pianos for his pupil Barbara of Portugal, on which he composed a great many of his sonatas. In parallel, Iberian builders made copies of those instruments — two of which survive today, in Seville and at the Fundación March in Madrid.
Udo Steingraeber
Piano Manufacturer
Sixth generation of the Bayreuth piano maker Steingraeber & Söhne, which he led from 1980 until handing it to his children Fanny and Alban in 2023. He launched the Pianos of the Future series and, with his children, Respectful Pianos, and as vice-president of Europiano he co-initiated the European Technician Degree. He lectures at piano technician schools worldwide.

Salvatore Malcangi
Piano Builder / Restorer
Master piano builder and restorer with more than fifty years of experience, trained at Steinbach and under Cesare Augusto Tallone. Since 1978 he has run his own workshop in Matera, building faithful copies of 17th- and 18th-century harpsichords and fortepianos. In 2017 he was commissioned to reconstruct an early-18th-century Italian harpsichord held by a prestigious museum.

Claudio Veneri
Pianist / Piano Historian / Researcher
Pianist and fortepianist, one of Italy’s foremost performers on original historical pianos. He created Italy’s first Historical Piano chair, at the Perugia Conservatory, and co-founded the Accademia dei Musici, home to his collection of 50 playable historical pianos. In 2024 he completed a PhD at the University of Camerino with the design of the Tuner Pitagoras tuning software.
